Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 June 2026. This policy explains how we handle personal data for the PayCan app and website.

Our principle

PayCan is a brand of E-Smart Technology UK Ltd, a technology company. We do not hold or control your funds or crypto. Your crypto is safeguarded by regulated, institutional-grade custody partners, and regulated services such as on and off-ramp, accounts and cards are provided by licensed third parties. We collect only the data needed to run the app and to connect you to those partners.

1. Who we are

PayCan is operated by E-Smart Technology UK Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number: 16724966). For data protection purposes, E-Smart Technology UK Ltd is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at privacy@paycan.ai.

2. Information we collect

We collect: account information you provide, such as your name and email when you register; device, log and usage data needed to operate and secure the app; transaction metadata generated when you use features; and, where you use regulated services, the identity and verification information (KYC) required by our licensed partners to meet their legal obligations. Your wallet keys are not held by us.

3. How we use your information and our legal bases

We use your information to provide and secure the service (performance of a contract), to connect you to licensed partners and pass the information they require (performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations), to prevent fraud and abuse and to improve the product (our legitimate interests), and to meet anti-money-laundering, sanctions and other legal requirements (legal obligation). CAN AI processes the requests you make to help you act on your money. It works on your instructions and only takes action with your explicit approval.

4. Sharing with partners and providers

We share personal data with the licensed third parties who deliver regulated services to you (for example identity verification, custody, card issuing, banking and on and off-ramp providers), with technology and infrastructure providers who help us run the service, and with authorities or advisers where we are legally required to do so. We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

We operate across the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong and Latin America, so your data may be processed outside your home country. Where data is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent measures recognised under applicable law.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as you have an account and for the period afterwards required to meet legal, accounting, tax and anti-money-laundering obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

7. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses strictly necessary cookies to function and may use analytics to understand how the site is used. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings or any cookie controls we provide.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. In the UK and EEA these rights arise under the UK GDPR and GDPR; comparable rights apply under Singapore's PDPA and Hong Kong's PDPO. To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@paycan.ai.

9. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, and our regulated partners apply their own institutional-grade controls to the services they provide. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

PayCan is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the date above. Significant changes will be notified in the app or by email where appropriate.

12. Contact and complaints

For privacy questions or to make a complaint, email privacy@paycan.ai. If you are in the UK and are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You may also contact the data protection authority in your own country.
